The National Forest Company (NFC) works with a wide range of partners to create and develop The National Forest. This forest for the nation has, over the last 25 years, transformed 200 square miles of the Midlands through the planting of more than eight and a half million trees. As part of its ‘forestlife’ tourism campaign, the NFC encourages businesses to sign up and share the benefits of marketing collaboratively and celebrating the distinctiveness of The National Forest.
As the latest business to sign up to ‘forestlife’, National Forest E-Bike Holidays will make a donation for every electric bike holiday booked to support the continuing development of The National Forest, making sure this new forested landscape is always here for everyone to enjoy.
Sue Jerham set up National Forest E-Bike Holidays in 2017, inspired by the diversity and beauty of The National Forest. “The National Forest is central, easily accessible and will surprise you with the variety of countryside you will see,” said Sue. “It offers the perfect combination of splendid cycling over gentle terrain, together with so much to see and do. It’s proved the perfect place to set up our business.”
Richard Drakeley, Tourism Development Manager for the NFC, said: “Forestlife’ sums up the personality of The National Forest, this special woodland place. It’s about connecting with the landscape and with each other, to discover great places to walk and cycle – to share special times. We’re encouraging businesses who share this ethos to sign up with us and be part of our ‘forestlife’ campaign, trialling a contribution model to help reinvest in the Forest. National Forest E-Bike Holidays is a perfect example of this and we’re delighted to welcome them on board.”
Sue added: “Our electric bike holidays are designed for the gentle adventurer, who enjoys being active, but wants plenty of energy left for exploring on their holiday. You travel in style, using quality electric bikes, staying in lovely accommodation and we transport your luggage between hotels for you each day. National Forest E-Bike Holidays are self-guided, so you travel at your own speed. We’re based in the Forest, so guests can be confident that information and support is on-hand if you need it.
“We chose electric bikes for our cycling holidays, as we have first-hand experience of just how much fun they are to ride. There’s no complicated technology to master and the rider chooses how much support they need. Any difference in cycling ability or fitness levels can be evened out, ensuring that everyone gets to the top of the hills together. The additional assistance of the motor, combined with the upright cycling position, means that electric bikes generally feel easier on the joints than a traditional bike.”
