English Tourism Week

Posted on Wednesday 28th February

English Tourism Week running from 17 – 25 March is an annual celebration of our thriving industry, showcasing the quality, variety and value of tourism across England to visitors and local MPs.

Across the Forest, various tourism business networking events and advice fairs have been organised by our District Council partners at East Staffordshire Borough Coucil, North West Leicestershire District Council and South Derbyshire District Council.

South Derbyshire

Tourism businesses or people thinking of starting a business in the sector are invited to attend Sharpe’s Pottery Museum Tourism Business & Rural Advice Fair in Swadlincote on Tuesday, March 20 March. A leaflet swap and advice on business grants, marketing and other assistance will be available plus the chance to network with companies in the sector and representatives from a range of support organisations offering top advice, including the South Derbyshire Business Advice Service, East Midlands Chamber and the AA Quality Assesment Scheme.

North West Leicestershire

On Wednesday, 21 March, tourism businesses across North West Leicestershire will come together to champion the District’s growing tourism offer at the 1620’s Manor House at Donington Le Heath for a Tourism Networking & Leaflet Swap.   Tourism businesses will have the opportunity to hear the latest tourism news and updates from Leicestershire Promotions, the National Forest Company and colleagues representing the East Midlands Chamber’s Digital Growth programme.  There will also be an opportunity to swap leaflets ahead of the season and enjoy a tour of the house.

East Staffordshire

On Thursday, 22 March, tourism businesses in East Staffordshire are invited to attend a Tourism Swap Shop supported by Destination Staffordshire.  Businesses will have the opportunity swap literature with other regional venues and network with other tourism related businesses.
