Ashby de la Zouch Castle
Book nowEnjoy the impressive ruins of a medieval manor house turned castle. Can you climb the huge 24 metre Great Tower? Built by Lord Hastings in the 1470s, there are 97 steps all the way to the top. Walk the underground passage between the Kitchen Tower and the Great Tower and explore the mysterious castle garden, which is famous for its deep sunken sections. Sir Walter Scott famously based his novel Ivanhoe here - perhaps it will inspire you to write your own novel.
