Chestnut Glebe

A 5.8 ha woodland in two parts (Chestnut Glebe and Cooper's Copse) near to Stanton under Bardon.  Chestnut Glebe is planted in a parkland style with horse chastnut, sweet chestnut and walnut at wide spacing.  Coopers Copse, to the south, is planted with native broadleaves with the aim of producing high quality hardwood timber, mainly oak and ash.  Two ponds in Coopers Copse provide aquatic habitats, and bird and bat boxes are positioned on the mature trees in the boundary hedges.

Chestnut Glebe is on the route of the National Forest Grange Walk.
