Gunby Lea Farm

A 48.5ha site near Overseal, this is an unusual scheme in that it is the only one with its own microlight landing strip.

The woodland is spread over 4 large fields and is very visible from the surrounding roads.  The pond on the site formed as a result of mining subsidence and the adjacent grassland is being managed as a hay meadow to create a buffer strip to the stream. The existing spinney has been thinned and bat boxes installed in the trees as roosting and nesting habitat.

Horse riding is permitted around the southern compartment on a key access system.
