Jubilee Wood

A 19ha mixed woodland which was presented to Leicestershire County Council in 1977 to commemorate the Queen's Silver Jubilee.  The wood, which is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, consists of a mixture of mature beech, sycamore and larch with an area of damp alder wood near its northern boundary.  There are some granite outcrops within the wood and open public access throughout. Both this wood and the adjacent Outwoods are renowned for the carpets of bluebells to be found in sping/summer.

The Outwoods can be reached by public footpath and you can also walk to Loughbrough or Woodhouse Eaves by public footpath.
