Mary's Wood

Mary's Wood is a 6.4ha Tender Scheme winner (in 2001) that is situated less than half a mile from Conkers and is part of a growing network of sites in the Ashby Woulds.  The woodland is part of a new equestrian enterprise and is designed to maximise opportunities for access and nature conservation.  A new dedicated bridleway links the site to Donisthorpe Woodland Park and permissive footpaths allow walkers to explore the site.  The Hooborough Brook runs through the wood and wetland areas adjacent to the brook are being managed for their wildlife interest.

Memorial trees can be bought and planted among the woodland.
