Moat Hall Wood

Moat Hall Wood is a 5.2ha woodland near the Forest boundary in Needwood.  Together with the nearby Corbett's Wood,  it forms an attractive gateway to the Forest area.  The woodland runs down a slope to the River Swarbourne and is particularly appealing in landscape terms.  Wetland scrapes and a pond have been created in the wetter, low-lying areas to benefit wildlife.  The adjacent roadside verge is a designated Nature Reserve and it is hoped that the wildflowers from the verge will spread into the woodland.
