Quakers Wood

Quakers Wood is a 12.4 ha site near Ravenstone, planted in 2003 and named after the adjoining Quakers Plantation.  The planting makes use of a variety of species, including Scots pine, birch, cricket bat willow, crab apple, hazel and oak.  Native black poplar are also included, as are osier willows (which are used for willow weaving), in the damper areas.  Two ponds provide aquatic habitat and wet grassland around the edges offers ideal conditions for dragonflies and insects.

A permissive horse track extends around the perimeter of the site.
