Seal Wood

A 19.5ha woodland near Clifton Campville with good views to the churches at Lullington and Clifton Campville.  The new woodland is planted in an area with quite low existing tree cover although hedges and intact fields are characteristic of the Mease and Sence Lowlands.  A wildflower meadow has been created on an area believed to be an 11th century enclosure.  A new pond has been created to provide wetland habitats for species such as the ruddy darter dragonfly and willows along the stream have been coppiced to prolong their life.  Bat boxes have been installed on the existing hedgerow trees.

A horse cross country route with optional jumps adds to the pedestrian access available.
