The Partings Wood

The Partings Wood is a 39ha wood planted in 2002 on the edge of Stanton-under-Bardon.  The woodland extends for a mile across a number of fields and consists of over 30 species of broadleaved trees, including eight different species of willow.  Two existing ponds have been restored and wetland areas created to provide habitat for dragonflies and other insects.

A cross country horse route with some jumps and a water splash, and a new dedicated footpath add new access facilities.  The site of a mediaeval church within the site has been left as open ground and interpreted.
