Feanedock

6.5ha of new woodland planted on former farmland adjacent to existing woodland in the Ashby Woulds by Hepworth Building Products.

The original Feanedock Covert has been complemented by newly planted woodlands, meadows and wetlands. The site is planted with mainly native broadleaved species. A small pond was created at the northern end and is surrounded by marshy grassland with a variety of flowers and emergent plants, such as reeds and rushes.

A bridleway link has been created down the edge of the site by the hedge. Gorse Lane, the bridleway which separates Feanedock from the adjacent Boothorpe Wood is part of the National Forest Way.

Feanedock and Boothorpe Woods are the venue for the National Forest TIMBER Festival, which ran for the first time in July 2018.
