Sarah's Wood

Sarah's Wood covers 12ha on the edge of Moira and is designed to provide access for all abilities. Tarmac paths loop around the site, although some wheelchair users may need assistance in certain places where paths are not surfaced.

Mixed native broadleaves form the main planting areas, while memorial trees (to Gandhi and Anne Frank) can be found in the Gandhi Goodwill Grove. Former field boundary hedges are retained within the woodland and provide linking habitats. A hay meadow forms the north east section of the site, close to the adjacent houses. The Ashby Canal has been restored along the southern boundary foe Sarah's Wood, complete with a new basin with slipway. A new footbridge links the wood to the adjacent Conkers Waterside.
