Looking for an action packed family day out? Twycross Zoo are celebrating 60 years of amazing animals, courageous conservation and fantastic family fun!

Come close to hundreds of animals from some of the most endangered species, Twycross Zoo is famous for its world renowned primate collect and is the only zoo in the UK that you can see all 4 great apes – gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees and bonobos. They are home to the most critically endangered big bat on earth, the Amur leopard and the magnificent snow leopard as well as other incredible species such as giraffes, zebras, penguins and meerkats plus giant tortoises and SO much more!

Sliver into the deep dark woods of The Gruffalo Discovery Land and meet some of the much loved characters from the bestselling children’s book The Gruffalo written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, you’ll be introduced to real-life owls, snakes, butterflies and more. With animatronics, film-clips, rouch and feel activies as well as live performances and the chane to meet The Gruffalo himself, the land aims to spark the imagination of the next feneration, engaging them with the wonders of nature.

Let your little ones run free in the many outdoor play areas, including the Wet ‘n’ Wild water play area and swing into the 3 storey soft play jungle, so you can easily spend a whole day here and enjoy meeting some amazing creatures. 

Tickets and experiences

Twycross Zoo have introduced an annual ticket which means you can visit from as little as £17.10 and visit for free for 12 months! PLUS save 10% when you book online at least a day in advance. Even better – under 3’s go free!

They also have a number of different animal experiences and encounters available to purchase starting from just £50 for 2 people.

For the last 60 years, Twycross Zoo have been working at the forefront of conservation, education and scientific research to make a global impact on endangered species and fight the extinction crisis.

Every visit to Twycross Zoo helps to provide care to their animals, many of which are part of breeding programmes to safeguard the future of species as well as funds numerous international conservation, research and education projects both internationally and in the UK.

Retail and Catering

Feeling peckish? It's time to feed those grumbly tummies! Head The View Restaurant for a scrumptious meal - from freshly made pizza and pasta to vegetarian foods too! With a view of the snow leopard enclosure.

Maybe the Catch Fish Bar is something up your street? Delicious fish and chips are enough to satisfy those empty tummies!

You'll also find plenty of kiosks around the zoo for refreshments, sweet treats and drinks too!

Twycross Zoo is easily reached just off the M42 in the heart of England. We open from 10am daily to 5pm. Throughout the year there are special events and additional activities so keep an eye on the website for exciting news of our events.
