Vicarage Forest

An 11.2ha Tender Scheme winner in 2000 for the Building & Social Housing Foundation, Vicarage Forest is situated on the edge of Whitwick.

Only half of the site has been planted with trees. The remainder is being managed as acidic grassland and heathland, typical of the Charnwood area. In December 2000, local schools helped to plant the woodland areas. The wood has been dedicated to Mr Peter Elderfield, the former director of the Building & Social Housing Foundation.
